Abstract

The research focuses on Shuri as the main character, whose emotional development and leadership identity are shaped through continuous interactions within her microsystem. This environment consists of family members, close companions, and authority figures, all of whom play a crucial role in influencing her behavior, decision-making, and the formation of her leadership role.

This study applies a descriptive qualitative method with a psychological literary approach. The primary data are selected scenes and dialogues from the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, supported by secondary data from relevant books and scholarly articles. Data were analyzed by identifying microsystem elements and examining bidirectional interaction processes that contribute to identity development.

The findings reveal that Shuri’s leadership transformation is significantly influenced by interpersonal relationships, emotional attachments, and evolving social roles within her microsystem. The loss of close family members initially drives her toward grief and revenge; however, sustained interactions within her environment foster emotional maturity, moral awareness, and leadership responsibility. Furthermore, Shuri not only is influenced by her microsystem but also actively reshapes it as she assumes leadership, demonstrating a reciprocal developmental process. This confirms that leadership identity formation can be understood as a developmental outcome emerging from dynamic interactions between the individual and their immediate environment, in line with Bronfenbrenner’s theoretical framework.
