Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine what contributed to the thought of Ibn Khaldun in the field of history. It is hoped that this research can enrich knowledge in the field of history, especially about the contributions of Ibn Khaldun. This final project is a research library Reseach using qualitative methods. This study uses a book, a journal of Ibn Khaldun, and books and works of Ibn Khaldun. To analyze the data, researchers used content analysis or content analysis.
Results of the study was Ibn Khaldun as a historical figure, has an important role in the history of thought reformer. He has had many differences with other historians. It appears from his profound thoughts on the idea of Islam, so aimlessly thinking that objective. In addition, he also uses a systematic method so people can understand it easily
His role as one of the very influential Muslims in the world, not only for the Muslims in the world, but all people in the world, thoughts and his contribution is very important to learn in life. In addition, as a Muslim historian, Ibn Khaldun must have contributed in the fields of history as outlined in his papers (Muqadimah book, Al-Ibar, Al-Ta'rif, and other works).
