The theme of women in a collection of short stories became a very interesting topic to be explored and discussed. One poet who raises the theme of women in his short story is Djenar Maesa Ayu. In this study analyzing a collection of SAIA short stories by Djenar Maesa Ayu. This research uses descriptive analysis method and qualitative research type.
In this study, the results obtained include. 1) Marginalization of 5 data from 4 short story titles that tell about the fate of marginalized women, 2) Subordination 11 data from 6 short story titles that tell about women who are not included in male decision making, 3) Stereotype 8 data from 6 short story titles that tell about women who are labeled bad by men, 4) Violence 9 data from 6 short story titles that tell about women who experienced physical violence, verbal violence, and sexual violence, and 5) Workload 9 data from 4 short stories that tell about women who have multiple responsibilities.
Based on these results it can be seen the forms of gender injustice against women that occur in a collection of short stories by Djenar Maesa Ayu SAIA.
