Abstract

The objective of this final project is to find out whether there is any correlation between habits of listening to English songs and English vocabulary mastery. The subject of the study was tenth grade students of SMA N 11 Semarang in the academic year 2018/2019.This research categorized as quantitative correlation which studies between two variables or more. The researcher used two kinds of instrument: questionnaire and test to collect the data. Based on the result is known that the correlation between habits of listening to English songs and English vocabulary mastery was positive. The calculated shows the coefficient correlation 0.674 was higher than r table (0.2391) with significance value was 0.00. It means that Hₐ was accepted because the significance value was lower than the level of significance (0.05). Keywords: habit of listening, song, vocabulary.
