text to the eighth grade students of MTs NU Ungaran in the academic year of
2013/2014?
The research design of this study is quasi experimental design. The goal of
this research is to compare the difference between the experimental group and
control group. The two groups got pre-test at the first meeting. After that, the
teacher gives treatment to experimental group and does not give treatment to
control group. There were four steps in conducting this research; try out, pre test,
treatment, and post test during five meetings of the research. The research was
implemented at the eighth graders of MTs NU Ungaran. There were 3 classes.
The respondents of this study grade student VIII D class which consists of 33
students as the try out class, VIII B which consists of 33 students as the
experimental class, and VIII C which consists of 33 students as the control class.
The pre-test result indicated that the sig. (2-tailed) for control group was 0.583(p
> 0.05) and 0.318(p > 0.05) for experimental group the scores are higher than
0.05. It means that the pre test scores of both classes were normal because the “p”
scores were higher than 0.05. From the Independent sample t-test for post-test
result, the writer found that t value was 3.021 and the independent sample -test
showed that the Sig. (2-tailed) was 0.04 is less than 0.05. In addition, the
independent sample t-test showed that sig (2-tailed) was 0.004 (p < 0.05). It meant
that H
0
was declined and H
was accepted. Thus, there was a significant different
in the student‟ writing achievement between the experimental and control classes.
