Abstract
This study is aimed to find out whether the use of Sequenced-Cards as media were affective or not to improve students’ narrative writing ability when they were applied to the tenth grade students of SMA Filial Negeri 1 Gubug in academic year 2017/ 2018. An experimental research design was used in this study. The number of populations was 69 students of X Mia. The sample of this study consisted of class X Mia 1 as the experimental group and class X Mia 2 as the control group. The finding showed that the average scores of the experimental and the control group in pre-test were 60.06 and 61.62. It could be stated that the ability of those groups was relatively same. After they got some treatments, the score of the experimental group increased became 70. 35 and the score of control was only 62. 94. It means that the average of the experimental group for the post test that were taught writing by using sequenced card was higher than the control group. It could be concluded that Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted. Based on the result above, it could be concluded that the use of sequenced card in teaching writing narrative text in the tenth grade students of SMA Filial Negeri I Gubug in the academic year 2017-2018 was effective. This media could be applied to improve the students’ writing skill in narrative text.
