Abstract

At this century, Islamic Religious Education is led to transform the model of teaching centered learning (TCL) to student centered learning (SCL) model due to the regulation of 2013 curriculum, and also the learners are guided to think seriously and innovative as well as the teacher prepares a new strategy to be applied in teaching learning activity, so it needs a strategy which is centered to learners, moreover 2013 curriculum has a certain regulation especially in applying teaching learning approach, it has to be scientific approach. The major problem of this research is the use of strategy and Islamic Religious Education approach and its character in implementing 2103 curriculum school year 2016/2017 at X grade of Islamic Religious High School Sultan Agung 1 Semarang. The subject of this research is Islamic Religious Education the teacher and the teacher’s character, and also students. This research is aimed to describe and analyze the strategy and Islamic Religious Education approach, and teacher’s character in implementing 2013 curriculum at X grade of Islamic Religious High School Sultan Agung 1 Semarang. This research is a descriptive qualitative research, and the type of this research is a field research which describes the background of Islamic Religious High School Sultan Agung 1 Semarang that is located on MT.Haryono Street, Semarang city. The data is collected through interview, observation, and documentation. So, data analysis uses miles and hubermen (1984) concept, interactive model including data reductions, data display, and conclusion The result of this research is 1) PAI learning strategy used in SMA Islam Sultan Agung 1 Semarang conducting curriculum 2013 has done effectiacly paying attention some factors, such as a) teacher factor. Teacher understanding learning strategy and approach in curriculum 2013 characteristic will perfom for teaching learning process and giving good understanding for leaners, where as whom have not understood them yet, tend to use old strategy-teacher centered. b) Pupils/student competence and motivation which all still under average rate affect the active learning strategy, so teachers domination is still needed. 2) learning approach used in X grade of SMA Islam Sultan Agung scientific approach those are. a) teaching plan prepared by teachers has been already well. Prepared to make students active and enjoyed, b) learning process done has been appropriate to scientific steps, such observing, answering, collecting data assosiating, and communicating Keywords: PAI learning strategy, PAI approach, and curriculum 2013
