Abstract
This study was aimed to implement FRESH technique to improve the students’ ability in writing a descriptive text. To achieve the objective of this study, the researcher used collaborative action research with the English teacher of MTs Hidayatus Syubban Semarang in VIII D class through one cycle. This was gathered based on the result of the teacher and the students’ interviews, field note, and the result of writing exercises using FRESH technique. The researcher had which were and the results of the implementations were good. It was indicated by the students’ achievement. In exercise 1, the researcher found there were only 7 students who got the score higher than KKM. In exercise 2, the researcher found there were 12 students who got the score higher than KKM. In exercise 3, the researcher found most of the students got the score higher than KKM. Hence, the researcher concluded that the use of FRESH technique is suitable to improve the students’ ability in writing a descriptive text.
