Abstract
The informed consent is the statement of the patient as the healthcare consumer or their legal representatives that contains the agreement towards the medical action plan proposed by the doctor after receiving sufficient information in order to be able to approve or reject, to educate and to raise the child into the adoptive parent’s family environment. The purposes of the Informed Consent are to protect the patient in this case as a form of healthcare consumer protection against any medical action performed without the patient's knowledge, and provide legal protection to the doctor against unexpected and negative consequences, for example to the unavoidable risk of treatment that occurs even if the doctor has done as much as possible and act with great care. The author sees that there are major issues concerning informed consent for consumer protection. The issue consists of whether the current informed consent is in conformity with the terms and conditions of consumer protection, the legal relationship among patient, doctor and hospital in the consumer protection law, what constraints that occur and how to solve them in consumer protection law. In order to solve this problem, the author conducts a normative juridical research or literature law research, to obtain secondary data consisting of primary legal materials and secondary legal materials in the form of constitutions and law experts. The data obtained were analyzed through syllogistic method and interpreted by using deductive thinking pattern. Data collection technique used is literature study techniques. Based on the analysis that has been done, it can be concluded that the current informed consent has met the valid requirement of the informed consent, in accordance with the law by examining the current medical action consent form and its application in the hospital. In this case, researcher suggest that the colomn of informed consent must have the colomn of administration and make a global verification from that informed consent. Keywords: Informed Consent, Consumer Protection
