Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of reading aloud technique in improving students’ pronunciation of the tenth grade Students of SMK Pontren Darussalam Demak. There are two variables in this study, namely independent variable and dependent variable. Reading aloud technique is the independent variable, while students’ pronunciation is dependent variable. The population of the study was the tenth grade students of SMK Pontren Darussalam Demak in the academic year of 2015/2016 and the sample of the study was of X.4 TKR (consist of 30 students) and X.1 TKR (consist of 36 students) of SMK Pontren Darussalam Demak in the academic year of 2015/2016. In this study, the writer used experimental research design. The data were collected by test and recording. The data were analyzed using ANOVA of SPSS 16.0 for windows. From the data analysis of post-test, the result showed that the mean of control class was 65.64 and the mean of experimental was 74.17. while Sig. (2-tailed) of post-test was 0.001 (less than 0.05). Based on the analysis, it was concluded that reading aloud technique is effective in improving students’ pronunciation at SMK Pontren Darussalam Demak in the academic year of 2015/2016.
