Abstract
This final project was an experimental research. The objective of this research was: Is textless comic more effective than themed picture to improve students’ dialog writing skill to the tenth graders of MA HusnulKhatimah in the academic year of 2015/2016?.The population of this study was the tenth graders of MA HusnulKhatimah Semarang.There were 19 astudents joined in the try out. There were 20 astudents joined in the experimental group.There were 20 astudents joined in the experimental group. There were six meetings in the research. One meeting was for the pre-test. Four meetings were for the treatments and one meeting for the post- Test. Thepre-test average score of the experimental group was 65.4 and the control group was 64.55. The result of the experimental group post-test was 75.55 and the control group was 68,6. The result analysis showed that there was significant difference between the experimental group and the control group. It meant that textless comic was more effective than themed picture as a medium for teaching dialog writing.It can be concluded that H1 was accepted. Hence, textless comic was more effective than themed as a medium to improve the students dialog writing skill. Keywords: textless comic, themed picture, dialog writing skill, experimental research.
