Abstract

This study was conducted to describe the use of CourseLab2.4 – e-learning software – as learning media for the eleventh grade students at SMA Islam Sultan Agung 3 Semarang. Learning media produced by CourseLab2.4 is published into file extension .html which can be opened with internet browser application on computer such as Mozilla FirefoxTM and Windows Internet ExplorerTM. Tools and material in this study was computer (laptop), software CourseLab2.4, BSE English book (electronic book), and CD (compact disc). The sample/respondent in this study is 40 students of eleventh grade students by probability sampling method. Data gathering was through observation and survey (questionnaire). Questionnaire was designed by considering 3 scales of attitude which contains 12 questions divided into three criteria; they are education criteria, appearance criteria and technical criteria. The writer analyzed and presented the data with descriptive analysis approach and finding the mean of each criteria and overall. From the questionnaire analysis, highlights the mean value of each criteria, education criteria is 2.443 (high), appearance criteria is 2.537 (high) and technical criteria is 2.525 (high) and the average of all criteria is 2.502 (high/excellent). These value points out that CourseLab2.4 is good media for learning English at SMA Islam Sultan Agung 3 Semarang. By this result, the writer can conclude that CourseLab2.4 is proper as learning media in English and other subjects. The writer suggests to teachers to be more skilled in operating computer and educational software like courselab2.4 for creating creative and effective learning media in digital era.
