Abstract
Background: Osteoarthritis patients usually complain of pain during activity or if there is a load on the affected joint. Pain may be felt continuously so disturbing mobility. Results of interviews conducted in four older people, with a history of osteoarthritis disease in PHC Bangetayu Semarang, has an average recurrence three times a month, and the family has not been sufficiently aware and involved in the treatment of osteoarthritis has. The aim of this study was to the relationship between family health practices with disease recurrence rate of osteoarthritis in the elderly. Methods: The design that will be used is Cross Sectional Study approach or cross sectional studies. This design study the dynamics between risk factors with effects, with the approach, observation or the collection of data at a time at a time. The sample in this study was 113 respondents. The analysis used was chi square. Results: The results showed that most respondents had a family medical practice in the medium category with a number of 47 respondents (41.6%). The results showed that most of the elderly have a relapse of osteoarthritis in the lower category by the number of 74 respondents (65.5%) Conclusions: There is a relationship between family health practices with osteoarthritis recurrence elderly in PuskesmasBangetayu p-value 0.000. The results showed a negative correlation with the direction of the closeness of the category because it has a correlation coefficient of 0.727 Keywords: family health practice, recurrence, osteoarthritis
