Abstract

The city of Semarang as the capital of Central Java Province is the center of government, economic, social, educational and cultural activities in Central Java. With the role of Semarang City, Semarang City also experienced a very large increase in the number of vehicles (Setiaji, 2006). From several locations of traffic density, the Soekarno Hatta road intersection in front of the Pertamina Grand Mosque gas station in Semarang is an intersection that often occurs traffic congestion because this location is a meeting point from 4 directions. Among them are from the direction of Jalan Gajah Raya, Jalan Tambak Dalam Raya, Jalan Soekarno Hatta (West), Jalan Soekarno Hatta (East). Therefore, the intersection point often occurs traffic congestion, so it is necessary to analyze the performance of the road intersection. This study aims to determine the performance of the road crossing for the next 5 years, find out the level of interchange service, and provide solutions to the problem of traffic congestion at the Soekarno Hatta road intersection in front of the Pertamina Masjid Agung gas station. The data in this study was obtained through a 7-day survey, namely Monday – Sunday on July 11-17, 2022. The research data is then processed with Microsoft Excel using formulas guided by MKJI in the signaled phase. To calculate the growth of vehicles using linear regression. The results showed that the degree of road saturation was 0.861 which means that the road section is included in the category of e service level with DS (0.85-1.00). The level of ;p elayanan E is that the current level is unstable, the speed is sometimes stopped, the demand is already approaching capacity. This means that if during peak hours where the flow is unstable and the speed is sometimes stopped and the movement is controlled by the volume of traffic approaching capacity, the traffic density is at capacity, therefore the driver has limitations to choose the speed, changing lanes to get ahead. Based on the analysis of vehicle growth of 14%, it is obtained that the degree of saturation in 2022 is saturated (DS = 0.86), so it is necessary to carry out traffic management such as carrying out road maintenance and widening roads according to government regulation no.34 of 2006 concerning roads to reduce congestion and be able to accommodate vehicles with greater capacity. and putting in order motor vehicles, cars, or large vehicles that sometimes stop on the side of the road.
