Abstract

Recently, living in the modern era, a gadget is needed by many people. They could not leave it in daily activities. It can support whole activities every day. It also happens in the educational world. A gadget can support learning activities. It can be learning media, such as in making a video. This study describes students’ perceptions of learning English through vlogs to improve speaking skills in descriptive text. This research instrument was a questionnaire. The samples of this research are 77 students of 12th grade in SMA Islam Sultan Agung 1 Semarang who had made vlog as learning media. The results showed that students had a positive perception of vlogs to increase their confidence in speaking English. In conclusion, Learning media are important because they can help students to get the goal of the learning process. Vlog is one of the media that has been known in public can being learning media. It can help the students to enhance of ability in speaking skills. Key Words: Students’ Perception, Speaking English, Vlogging, Descriptive Text
