Abstract
Technology in civil engineering has developed rapidly and significantly in the last few decade unexcepted technology of concrete materials, the material which is much used in building construction. In recent years, single-celled or multi-cell concrete spindle boxes of the Box Girder Bridge have been proposed and widely used as economic aesthetic solutions for overcrossing, under crossings, class separation structures and found in modern highway systems. In this final assignment is to design prestressed concrete multi cell box girder bridge for highway and to get knowledge how to design of box girder bridge. Design and methodology begins with determining the bridge span, determining the bridge width, determining the material used, then determining the dimensions of the multi-cell girder beam. The calculation of girder box design is summarized in several stages as follows; first the calculation of loading; second calculates the prestress force, eccentricity, and number of tendons; third calculates the muzzle of the tendon position layout; fourth loss of prestress calculation; fifth calculation of stress on the box girder and then control the stress to know whether or not safe; sixth calculates the box girder deflection and controls the deflection to know whether or not it is safe, seventh calculates the ultimate review of the prestress box girder and control the ultimate moment to know whether or not it is safe, eighth calculates end block and the slab floor of the bridge enlargement. From the results of dimension calculations 45 m bridge span with a 40 cm bridge floor slab thickness obtained ultimate moment value due to the combination load does not exceed the ultimate allowable moment ie Mu = 67534.04793 kNm and the total deflection of the bridge floor slab 0.2416 mm which does not exceed the allowable deflection ie 20,833 mm.
