Abstract
This research was aimed to analyze English textbook entitled “When English Ring’s a Bell (Revised Edition)” for the eighth graders in the first and second semester that was published by Kemendikbudin 2017 in the 2013 curriculum. The method was used descriptive quantitative. This research was conducted at SMP Islam Sultan Agung 4 Semarang by doing interview with English Teacher and the students who use the textbook as a source of the material.The result showed that 80% material similarity of the “When English Ring’s a Bell (Revised Edition)” textbook was suitable with the syllabus of the 2013 curriculum. Meanwhile for the material completeness it is found that 66,67 % were suitable with syllabus of 2013 curriculum.For the concept of consistency it is found that 66.67% were suitable with the syllabus. For suitability of picture illustrations, it is found that 80 % were suitable with the syllabus. This book has fullfil the criteria of a good textbook.Hence, the researcher concluded that the English textbook that was used by SMP Islam Sultan Agung 4 Semarang was good enough for the students.
