Abstract
The objective of the research was to find out whether the effectiveness of Hot Seat strategy improve students’ speaking skill in narrative text in SMA Kesatrian 2 Semarang in the academic year 2017/2018. The design of this research was experimental research. To collect the data, the researcher used try out, pre test, and post test. The data analyzed by using SPSS. The result of the data showed that sig.(2-tailed) .016 less than .05. It meant that there was a significant difference between control class and experimental class. It could be concluded that Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted. Therefore, there was a significant difference of the students’ speaking skill between the control and the experimental class.
