Abstract

The research tried to find out whether there is a correlation between habit of watching English movie and listening achievement. This research is designed as a quantitative research, especially correlative study. The population was the students of eleventh grade of MA NU RAUM Wedung in the academic year 2018/2019. In taking sample, the purposive sampling was chosen. In obtaining the data, the writer used questionnaire and listening test. The questionnaire was exercised to measure the students’ frequency of watching English movies, while the listening test was used to measure listening achievement. The data were analyzed statistically by using descriptive analysis and Pearson product moment Formula in SPSS 16. The results of a correlation between watching English movie habit and listening achievement was positive. In case, from the correlation analysis revealed that coefficient was 0.672, while significance value was 0.000. It means that H1 was accepted. Stand on the result of the study, the researcher concluded that there was a correlation between students’ habit of watching English movies and their listening achievement of the eleventh grade students’ MA NU RAUM Wedung in the academic year 2018/2019.
