Abstract
This study aims to explain what reasons encourage the bride and groom to carry out prewedding photos and how the Islamic legal view of the implementation of prewedding photo that developed in the life of the community, while in the Qur'an and hadits not clearly stated how the legal status of prewedding photo , because in the time of the Prophet has not appeared the prewedding photo culture as it is today. This research uses the type of field research research where the authors plunge into the field directly and conduct interviews to obtain the necessary and also the study of verses of the Qur'an, hadits and books, which is related to the title of this thesis, the authors used a qualitative data analysis by describing and summarizing the results of the study. The results show that some of the reasons that affect the bride and groom carrying out prewedding photos that are to be memories in the future, are the invitation of the couple, fill the void time before marriage, and follow the trend. In view of Islamic Law, the implementation of prewedding photo that happened in Simpar village society is not in accordance with Islamic syari'at because it contains khalwat and kasyful aurat (opening of aurat) like intimate, look at each other, and embrace, where in Islamic syari’at it is forbidden because the act includes the act of approaching adultery. Likewise, the minimal clothing that reveal aurat, it is also not allowed in Islamic Syari’at because the obligation of a Muslim is to cover his private parts. So, the prewedding image done by the Simpar villagers is haram, except when the prewedding photo is done without violating the provisions of Islamic syari’at it is permissible by syara '.
